Dear Friends,
One of a parent’s most agonizing problems is a child in a “love” relationship with the wrong person.
In these disordered love relationships, it’s obvious to everyone except the child that the relationship is bad and that nothing good can come from it. But “love is blind.”
I hope you never have to deal with a common problem like that. But if it ever did happen, how would you handle it? If you take a stand against the relationship, you might drive the couple closer together. If you pretend everything is fine, hoping for the best, they might just stay together.
But there’s a solution. Did you know that there’s an angel that breaks disordered love relationships? That’s right. That’s just one of the things I learned from Kathleen Towne, the featured speaker at our most recent annual Women of Grace retreat at Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Kathleen told us:
“Raphael is the angel of the fire of God’s divine love. He breaks all disordered love relationships. Don’t try to tear at the relationship with your own hands. Get on your knees; get your Rosary, call Raphael and say ‘Go get ’em!’ I promise you he’ll break it up. He’ll order all relationships to pure love.”
Well, now you know exactly what to do if, God forbid, one of your children ever gets into a disordered love relationship.
I wish you could’ve been at the Malvern retreat with the 340 enthusiastic women on the weekend of July 31 through August 2. It was a privilege to hear Kathleen tell us all about the angels:
- How to call on their help
- Which ones to call on
- The nine choirs of angels and the differences between each choir
- Why we should never take our guardian angel for granted
- Why we should be on our guard against some angels
- How Satan and his demons fit into God’s plan
Keep in mind that demons consider themselves angels. In fact, they are angels – fallen angels that can’t repent of their wicked rebellion against God. And they relentlessly harass and tempt us.
Some Catholics post a sign in their homes: "Angels dwell here.” This might seem innocent, but it’s dangerous. After all, angels dwell in every home. But what kind of angels dwell there? Kathleen told us, “If you have a sign in your home that says, “Angels dwell here,” you need to get a magic marker and change the sign to read, “Holy Angels dwell here”!
As for the unholy angels, did you know that there are more demons than the number of people who’ve ever existed on earth? That’s a scary thought. And that’s why Kathleen took considerable time to explain why we should be on our guard against demons.
Do you know that Satan comes from the first choir of angels – the Seraphim? Satan was the most brilliant of the angels, which is why he’s sometimes called Lucifer, meaning light bearer. His wickedness is unfathomable.
How to protect your children from demonic influences
Satan and his demons are obviously running loose in our society. They’re having a field day. The world is their playground. Not only do they want to lure you and me into Hell, but also they want to snatch our children.
Because our children are so vulnerable, we must defend them against the various demonic influences they’ll face in the coming years:
- Demons are constantly trying to lure young people into the disgusting subculture of homosexuality – a tragedy that strikes too many families
- Other demons seek to enslave young people with other forms of addiction, such as drug and alcohol abuse or promiscuity
- Still other demons seek to lure young Catholics out of the Church
But forewarned is forearmed! Kathleen explained how we can protect ourselves against demonic attacks and influences – information that can help protect your children.

When you see Kathleen on DVD, one of the first things you’ll notice is that she wears a giant brown scapular that covers her entire torso and back! This is part of her formal recognition of the power of the scapular as a sacramental.
But you don’t have to wear a scapular as large as Kathleen’s. Like most Women of Grace, I wear a ticket-sized scapular. At one point during the retreat, Kathleen announced that it was time for a “ticket check” – to make sure everyone was wearing the brown scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Scapulars were provided to those who needed one and Father Edmund Sylvia C.S.C. invested them in it.
This scapular, along with the rosary, is one of the most powerful sacramentals in the Catholic Church. I can’t recommend it highly enough. So if you haven’t yet been invested with the brown scapular, I urge that you ask a priest or deacon to invest you in it without delay.
Incidentally, do you know why the scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is brown? Kathleen explained why. If you dip a woolen garment in blood, what color will the garment be after the blood has oxidized? Brown, of course.
The brown scapular represents the blood of the Lamb of God!
Kathleen amazes me. She started her Apostolate, Our Lady of Unity, in 1979 when she got married – not long after John Paul II began his pontificate. Tragically, her husband died just a few months after John Paul II died, as she explained to her spellbound audience. You need to hear her tell it because she can tell it better than I can summarize it in this letter. And the space limitations of this letter can’t do justice to her talks.
Believe it or not, Kathleen mobilized 25,000 Catholics at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. for seven days of prayer and fasting for our country.
And that’s exactly what America needs! As Christ told the Apostles, some demons can only be driven out by prayer and fasting.
One of the most demonic spirits in America is the spirit of abortion.
“I don’t care if you’ve had an abortion”
Kathleen gave a bright ray of hope to everyone in the audience who has committed a serious sin at some time in the past. She said that no matter what sins you’ve committed in the past, it’s definitely NOT an obstacle to very close union with God.
That’s right.
And to make her point even stronger, Kathleen said, “I don’t care if you’ve had an abortion.” It bears repeating: No matter how gravely your past sins have offended God, these sins are no obstacle to very close union with God, period.
And to prove her point, Kathleen told the story of a woman named Angela who committed adultery with married men. But she turned to God. She repented with a sincere heart. She went through a terrible time of purification through suffering. And she even ended up with the stigmata in total union with Jesus Christ.
Angela may well be canonized as a saint someday. Today she’s known as Blessed Angela of Foligno. She’s an encouragement to all of us who’ve committed serious sins in the past.
A miracle heard through a stethoscope
It was a privilege at the Malvern retreat to display the missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe – an exact digital replica of the original image that hangs in the Mexico City Basilica.
Incredible as it sounds, we’ve actually experienced miracles with the missionary image! For example, we’ve had OB/GYNs place a stethoscope on the image, and they’ve heard heartbeats consistent with the heartbeat of an unborn child. Many others have, too. Some have even heard two different heartbeats – a baby’s and the slower heartbeat of a mother’s.
During my talk at the retreat I laid my soul bare. I told about entering college in 1968 at a time when lots of wild and rebellious things were happening on college campuses. As I told the audience, I began living in a way that was diametrically opposed to the Faith.
Eventually, after a decade of living an ungodly life, the Lord brought a friend into my life – a practicing Catholic named Anne. I came to realize that she had a real relationship with Jesus Christ. And this made me hunger for Jesus. I’ll never forget the day I dared to ask Anne, “Do you think I could have a relationship with Jesus Christ?”
She replied, “I’m so glad you asked me that! I’ve been waiting for you to ask that! Of course you can have a relationship with Jesus!” She gave me some books and invited me to a charismatic prayer meeting. And ever since then I’ve been trying to get as close to Jesus Christ as I can.
How to get zapped by the Holy Spirit
I told the audience how the Holy Spirit “zapped” me, and how the same thing can happen to you. The Holy Spirit wants to zap you, and only one obstacle prevents it. When you hear my talk you’ll discover what that obstacle is and how to get rid of it.
But to achieve close union with God, you have to make sure you aren’t inadvertently inviting demons into your home, as many Catholics do. It might be something as “innocent” as visiting a fortune teller at a county fair.
Let me make this crystal clear. Going to a medium is not harmless. And Ouija boards, Tarot cards, horoscopes and other occult practices are not benign. Don’t participate in them on any level. Don’t get involved with them period!
Satan’s demons want to drag you
and your loved ones into Hell
Satan is serious. His goal is to lure you and your loved ones into Hell for all eternity. And his demons are just as eager to achieve that goal.
