We are dedicated to helping all Catholic women to live out their vocation more joyfully and faithfully – wives and mothers, single women, and religious from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, representing the universal Church founded by Christ and led by the Holy Father, the Bishop of Rome. We are eager to receive stories that appeal to all these groups.
Canticle Magazine is a bimonthly magazine. We welcome freelance submissions, provided writers are familiar with both our mission (www.womenofgrace.com) and the publication itself. For that reason, we strongly urge those seriously interested in writing to subscribe.

January/February: The focus of this issue is on the beginning of a new year, conversion and renewal, healthier living both spiritually and physically, love (Valentines Day). Liturgically, this is the season of the Childhood of Jesus and Mary’s Maternity. The cultural focus is on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the ravages of abortion and its impact on women’s mental, physical and spiritual health.
March/April: The central theme of this issue is the Lenten and Easter season with a focus on repentance, forgiveness, inner healing and amendment of life. Major Feasts are the Annunciation and the Feast of St. Joseph. This issue also contains a special eight-page insert on the Lent/Easter season that can be removed and used to evangelize friends and family. The cultural focus of this issue is on in vitro fertilization and infertility and on accepting God’s will in these areas as Mary did in the Annunciation.
May/June: This issue focuses on Mary, Pentecost and the Ascension of Our Lord. How is Mary our model as a Catholic woman and what role does the Holy Spirit play in our spiritual lives? We also celebrate the Immaculate and Sacred Hearts of Jesus during this time. The cultural focus of this issue is on motherhood/fatherhood, family and marriage.
July/August: In this issue, we celebrate Ordinary time and the great feasts of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the Assumption and the Transfiguration. In honor of the anniversary of Humanae Vitae, the cultural focus of this issue is on contraception, abortifacients, and natural family planning.
September/October: September is the month of the angels and during October we celebrate the Holy Rosary and the missions. Because October is also designated as Respect Life month in the Church, the cultural focus of this issue is on the various manifestations of the culture of death in our society. Education topics, with a focus on the responsibility of Catholic parents in the proper education of their children, will also be featured in this issue.
November/December: This is our Christmas issue and it is devoted to celebrating the season of Advent and Christmas. It includes a special eight-page insert on the season that can be removed and used to evangelize friends and family. The main issue also focuses on the Pour Souls and Purgatory. The cultural focus is on end-of-life issues such as euthanasia, living wills, withdrawal of artificial nutrition and hydration, etc.
- Articles that appeal to the broad spectrum of Catholic women, including single moms and single women, religious women; diverse ethnic backgrounds.
- Interviews with regional personalities and "women of grace." Up to 1200 words, with photographs if possible. For sample, click here.
- Reflections on Mary and the saints (not straight biographies) to run during their feast months. Up to 1000 words, including both story/life highlight and reflection. For sample, click here.
